Some Less Than Good News

Phillips 66, a leading oil and gas company, has issued its intent to sell the 400+ acres  it originally intended to use for building a research facility.

While the news comes as a disappointment to the city of Louisville where the property is located, most were not surprised considering the state of the economy since 2008 when the land was purchased.

The good news for the city is that the acreage will go back on the market shortly. And as mayor Bob Muckle points out, at least Phillips 66 has

assured us they’ll work hard to find a new user of the property that will be compatible with our community and beneficial for the region.

So, there is some good news to be had, and at least the mystery’s over.
